Anthony Rowe - Gallery 1

Anthony has been painting in Venice for many years, visiting at all times of the year. From the cold but sunny days of early January to the spring and the strong summer sun. The mists of the autumn, the rain and the snow of winter. These small paintings are oils and are painted 'Plein Air' in never more than one and a half hours. He normally paints early in the morning, starting at 6.30am and also the early evening to capture the light of the rising and setting sun. These paintings, along with many pencil drawings, are then used as reference back in the studio to work on much larger canvasses.
